Okay, so I want to do a dedication ritual, but I am not sure on how I could simplify it so that I can use what I have. There are certain colors of candles and such that I need, but because of my little funds, I cannot get them anytime soon. So I was wondering if anyone had an ideas on how to simplify the ritual, or maybe just any advice would be swell! Blessed Be!

The tools really have a psychological function more than anything. Perhaps you could do it astrally. Put yourself in a semi-trace state and then create in your mind a temple which will be your working space. Do your ritual in this space. This is how i'd do it. Start off with any banishings, openings etc that you like using then laydown or sit down. Imagine a great door way or a tree with a hole in it (or something along those lines) and enter into it. If you like you can create a sigil or image beforehand which represents your working, place that on the door with your imagination and enter through it. You are now at a long stairwell, walk down the stairs. I generally keep walking until the image is very vivid in my mind, when I can feel the moisture on the rocks and smell the moss in the air. (My steps are old rock spiral steps with moss growing on the walls) When you come to the end of the stairwell walk through a door into your temple. perhaps it would help if you had some idea what your temple would look like before commencing your journey. You may like to spend some time personalising the temple space and perhaps should leave the ritual until your next journey or if you like. Now you may perform your ritual with what ever tools you need. I imagine a box which holds all my tools that I may need so that it feels more plausable than items coming out of nowhere. When you are done, simply go back the way you came. take your time waking up. See, nice and easy.... and cheap too.

If you don't like that idea then what you need to understand is that the candle is a symbol of a specific spiritual essence, and there is never only one way of obtaining that essence. If you tell me more about the ritual I could help you find suitable substitutes or ways of evoking whatever forces you are meant to be working with when you use the candles. (If they are directly astrological then it's a very easy task) If you have white candles then you could simply include the colour another way. Eg. Wrap a small strip of the appropriate coloured paper around the base of the candle, or place a square of the colour underneith the candle etc etc. Don't have coloured paper? Colour in white paper. Hope this has helped.

When is the best time to do a dedication? As in season or days.

That sounds great Chantelle and thanks! ^^ Dedication rituals can be done at any time, though usually they are done on Imbolc(Feb. 3rd). I will be doing my dedication ritual then, and I think I may be able to get a few candles and such to do so with. I pray that all will go well; I performed my first ritual last night, and I kept on mixing the order of things up xD Nevertheless, I am proud of what I have accomplished!

If you wanted to take into consideration the moon then new moon is always good. Because new moon, new begining.

Okay so some time around Imbolc, and take the moon phase into consideration
I won't have time to do it this year... but I'll start planning for next year
-- I've FINALLY started being active in my religion again. Sadly, no rituals... but I am praying again
